Brief Bio

I graduated with an AA degree in photojournalism and served as photographer in the US Army.

Afterwards came a career as a graphic artist that has continued to the present. My experience ranged from print (catalogs, direct mail) to garment design and now, thanks to vocational training, to web design. I created this on-line portfolio, as well as other websites.

Recently I've presented collage workshops at the Los Angeles Public Library. I collaborated with Sybil Blazej and did the Photoshop work for our children's books about the rescue of cats and dogs. View site.

For fun, I like to read murder mysteries and play at drum circles. Artwise, I enjoy creating collages. My new passion is creating and trading Artists Trading Cards. View cards.

I never get tired of graphic design. Even today, I still get a thrill out of seeing my work go before the public – whether it's 50 baseball caps or 500,000 copies of a catalog.

Design
Good design should have the 3 -ables.
• The art should be read-able at the distance that it was designed for. If viewers have to work to understand the design, you risk losing them.
• It should be do-able. Imagine telling your client a design can't be done after they have approved it.
• The art should be sell-able. It must be compelling to the consumer.
